# Bankr accounts

A Bankr account signs through the Bankr API instead of releasing a local
private key to WalletChan's signing code.

## Add a Bankr account

Choose **Bankr** during onboarding or **Add account**, then provide the Bankr
credential requested by WalletChan. WalletChan validates the account and binds
the stored encrypted credential to the resulting account metadata.

## Confirm transactions and signatures

WalletChan still shows its normal review screen: requesting site, action,
simulation, approvals, network, and fees. After you confirm, the request is
sent to Bankr for signing or submission. Remote processing can remain pending
while WalletChan polls for the final result.

Closing the popup does not mean a submitted Bankr action was cancelled. Check
[Activity](/wallet/activity) or reopen WalletChan for the durable result.

## Bankr chat

Bankr accounts can use [Bankr chat](/wallet/bankr-chat) for conversational
wallet actions. Chat history is local to WalletChan and can be removed from
**Settings → Data → Clear Chat History**.

## Network and feature limits

Bankr supports a subset of WalletChan's configured networks. If an action is
available to a local account but not Bankr, WalletChan should show the
restriction before submission. Local-only controls such as editing an EOA
nonce or Ledger device approval do not apply.

## Passwords

The master password can unlock the account and authorize protected account
changes. A configured [agent password](/security/agent-password) can authorize
supported Bankr signing actions, but cannot reveal account secrets or change
master-only security configuration.
