# WalletChan Browser

WalletChan Browser is a Chromium-only launcher and resolver for ordinary dapps
and supported decentralized websites. Open it from **More**.

## Search and open

The launcher accepts:

* Dapp names from directory search.
* Valid HTTPS URLs.
* `.eth` and `.gwei` names.
* Supported GNS/onchain names and raw contract addresses.
* Paths, queries, and fragments attached to a decentralized site.

Directory results open in a new tab. A separate star action saves a result
without opening it.

## Decentralized content

WalletChan can resolve ENS/ENSv2/CCIP-Read content hashes, GNS content, IPFS or
IPNS destinations, and supported ERC-4804/ERC-5219 onchain HTML. A resolution
interstitial explains the original name and selected content route before
navigation.

## Favorites, connected, and recent

* **Favorites** are sites you saved and can reorder.
* **Connected dapps** are origins with wallet account permission.
* **Recent** reflects resolved browsing history/cache.

These are different concepts. Favoriting does not connect an account, and
disconnecting does not remove a favorite.

## Local Kubo

In **Settings → WalletChan Browser**, enable a local gateway, set its host/port,
check gateway and Kubo API status, and optionally pin resolved onchain HTML.
WalletChan reports checking, online, offline, CORS-blocked, unreachable, and
invalid settings separately. A one-time setup page helps with Kubo CORS.

## Security

Browsing resolution does not use wallet credentials. Local IPFS pages retain
their friendly `.eth`, `.gwei`, or onchain identity in WalletChan UI while the
raw resolved origin remains the actual security boundary.

This feature and Private mode are hidden on Firefox.
